NNPC MOVES TO STRENGTHEN LPG MARKET THROUGH FOREIGN PARTNERSHIP

Our focus is to act as African representative to major refineries and international traders. Many refineries and traders do not have an in-depth understanding and reach of the African markets. Our strategy is to utilize our deep understanding of the African markets to foster greater partnership with the refineries and traders.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is spearheading a project to promote a safer energy initiative through the expansion of investment in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector. This latest move through collaboration with some Spanish companies will boost LPG, also known as cooking gas, especially now that kerosene is becoming scarce, Leadership reports.

The group managing director (GMD) of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, during a visit of the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb Alfonso Barnuevo, at his office, said that under the latest push Nigeria and Spain would work in concert toward strengthening their bilateral relations in the oil and gas industry.

The GMD also expressed the NNPC’s clear desire to boost safer energy utilisation in the country via structured promotion of LPG consumption by the citizens.
